Duties and Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Associate Dean and Director, Kroeger College, under the supervision of the College Administrator, and with day-to-day guidance from the BGInS Program Director and the BGInS Internship Supervisor, the International Experience and Engagement Coordinator plays a central role in the ability for students to complete their international experience.

The Coordinator will also play a vital role in community engagement aimed at recruiting new students, and at engaging with alumni for the purposes of fostering relationships, career tracking, mentoring, and general engagement with the BGInS program


The incumbent is primarily responsible for working with the BGInS Internship Supervisor in the development of modules for the international internship program, and in its coordination and implementation.

In addition, the Coordinator will assist in the planning, development and execution of placement recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies and goals


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Must have a sound knowledge of the BGInS international internships
  • Must have a good understanding of the College's and University's general rules and
regulations as outlined in the annually revised Undergraduate Calendars.

  • Excellent research and analysis skills and abilities in order to make reliable recommendations
on curricular design, course content, current recruitment and outreach trends and practices.

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of experiential learning principals for placements or
work experience programs, with the ability to ensure learning outcomes are met.

  • A deep understanding and ability to integrate EDID principals into learning outcomes for
these international placements.

  • Excellent time management and organization skills are a must to deal with multiple, timesensitive tasks, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail is required as reliability and accuracy are critical to the position and
student success.

  • Must have the ability to successfully work with a large number of people at all levels of the
university and in the public, and from varying cultural and academic backgrounds, including
the demonstrated ability to work with tact, reliability and sensitivity to various cultural
profiles.

  • Good judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, and discretion are fundamental.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Personal initiative is essential in order to work independently and the ability to work
successfully as part of team is required.

  • Must have strong computer skills (such as but not limited to Banner, MS Word, Outlook,
Excel) to properly administer the duties of this position.


Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • Completion of a four-year university degree, Master's degree would be an asset.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a university setting with increasing knowledge and responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: placements or work experience programs, education/ curricular design and support, and/or recruitment and outreach.
