Clarion Hotel & Conference centre is the largest Conference centre outside of metro Vancouver with 24,000 square feet of meeting, event and tradeshow space in the heart of scenic valley.

We feature 115 guest rooms, 9 meeting rooms including a 6200 sq ft Grand Pinnacle Ballroom with a state-of-the-art kitchen.

We are looking for an Energetic, innovating team playing Banquet Manager to join our team

Reporting to General Manager, this employee is responsible for the overall operation of the Banquet department.

The Banquet Manger is to assure the success of all banquet events while maintaining the Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre standards of service.

This position is guest services oriented & must pay close attention to detail, manage their time wisely &
be highly flexible with their work schedule.



  • Schedule labour hours for the Banquet department as needed, in according to business levels.
  • Maintain and improve all service standards through disciplined administration of operating procedures and excellent attention to detail.
  • Recruit, train and supervise banquet personnel.
  • Ensure seamless cooperation between the kitchen and frontofhouse team.
  • Ensure effective relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues in the Banquet department.
  • Maintain strong relationship with the Catering team to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Set a positive example for all employees as a team player.
  • Take control and responsibility of Banquet liquor. Ordering, distributing, setting up bars, storing and achieving beverage cost targets.
  • Staying current with industry trends and improving cost controls.
  • Host staff/department meetings.
  • Attend BEO meetings weekly.
  • May be required to do room set ups and other miscellaneous tasks.

Requirements:


  • Banquet Management/ Large Restaurant Experience
  • Event management experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both guests and employees.
  • Ability to lead a large team of full time and casual associates.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Audio-Visual equipment. (Use and set up)
  • Handson attitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in PointofSale systems is an asset.
  • Must obtain Serving it Right certificate and be willing to get WHIMIS and Supervising for safety.

$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

  • Serving It Right (preferred)
