Project Manager - Power Sector

Red Jar Capital is an investment firm focused on developing businesses and opportunities in and around the Power and Renewable Energy sectors.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage projects within the power sector.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing and finalizing development projects within the power infrastructure including transmission, distribution and renewable energy generation and storage.

The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure projects align with organizational goals and industry standards.

This position requires 65% travel within Southern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:


Project Planning and Execution:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate resources, both internal and external, to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing potential risks or issues proactively.
• Implement and maintain project management best practices and methodologies.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams, to align project objectives and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Communicate project updates, milestones, and risks effectively to stakeholders and senior management.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

• Lead project teams, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and optimize project workflows.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and industryspecific regulations throughout project execution.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and present comprehensive project reports, including financial summaries, progress updates, and risk assessments, to stakeholders and senior management.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, reports, and change orders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience (min 5 years) in project management within the power sector or related industries.
• Strong understanding of power infrastructure, renewable energy, and/or electrical systems.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
