- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification is required
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
- Valid drivers license with a successful recent driver abstract is required
- Solid understanding of Caterpillar product line and experience working with mining equipment in the field environment will be required
- Completion or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset
- Must be comfortable working in an austere mining environment, often working alone with no supervision.
- This position is located at the Albian site on a 7x7 continuous day shift rotation
- Camp and flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
