    Major Job Functions

  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
  • Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
  • Specific Skills & Experience

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification is required
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Valid drivers license with a successful recent driver abstract is required
  • Solid understanding of Caterpillar product line and experience working with mining equipment in the field environment will be required
  • Completion or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset
  • Must be comfortable working in an austere mining environment, often working alone with no supervision.
  • Notes:

  • This position is located at the Albian site on a 7x7 continuous day shift rotation
  • Camp and flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
