    Description

    What you'll do:

  • Lead and coach a team of experienced accounting professionals in the performance of traditional accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies, internal controls and accounting standards. Also, defining project parameters and recognizing opportunities that will improve business processes and increase efficiencies across various systems that have an impact on financial reporting.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement to strengthen processes that advance financial, administrative, management and operational accounting. Play a critical role in establishing best practices and guiding the analysis and documentation of current business processes in order to lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of improved operational efficiencies, financial reporting and business analytics for the benefit of FCL and the CRS.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to create tailored solutions, resolve issues and identify opportunities that enhance accounting processes and outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to direct reports and to the strategic Business Units in forecasting and the annual budget process, preparation of internal financial statements, and assist with external financial reporting including analysis and liaising with the external auditors.
  • Provide leadership and professional guidance to a team of Accounting Supervisors and Analysts which includes onboarding/off boarding, training, performance management and professional development.
  • Who you'll work with :

    You will work closely with the Finance team and our Business Units and will have a group of Accounting Supervisors and Analysts as direct reports. You will report into the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting on a team that strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, building relationships and valuing the perspectives of others.

    Who you are:

    You are looking for a career in Finance and:

  • Have 8+ years of direct financial reporting experience including leadership experience.
  • Have a Bachelor of Commerce or Business agree with a major in Accounting (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Have technical knowledge of financial systems would be an asset.
