Reporting to the Manager of Communications, the Communications Coordinator prepares and distributes a variety of materials to support the City's strategic communications on behalf of Mayor and Council and all City departments.

This position plays a crucial role in the City's efforts to communicate directly to residents, to ensure public understanding of the City's work, and to enable meaningful public consultation.


Are you the one we're looking for?


You are a critical thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications plans, prepare communication and promotional materials, and have experience with social media, website content development, press releases, strategic messaging, and public engagement work.

You are creative, organized, detail-oriented, and have strong writing skills.

You thrive in a fast-paced work environment, are able to meet deadlines, and work well both independently and with a team.


We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a degree or diploma in communications or a related field from a recognized university, and a minimum of three years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends required. This position requires a valid BC driver's license.
