Mahmowenchike Family Development Centre is seeking flexible individuals who are looking to gain experience in the field of early childhood education. At Mahmowenchike, it is our goal to provide high-quality child care and support to families and children and we foster an environment of inclusion and continuous learning. We pride ourselves on providing a positive and exciting work environment for our employees and a welcoming and inviting environment for children and families.

We currently have three locations in St. Vincent school (Redwood Avenue - offers infant to school age care), St. Ann school (Georgina Avenue - offers toddler to school age care), and St. Elizabeth school (Selkirk Street - offers before and after school care only).

We work as a cohesive team which means supporting each other and supporting our centres to be the best we can be.

Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent education and experience;
Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
Knowledge of relevant legislation including the _Child Care and Early Years Act _and the _How Does Learning Happen? _pedagogical document
Standard First Aid and CPR level C (with infant and child CPR) certification
Current (within 6 months), clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
Uptodate immunization record and TB skin test
Knowledge of the Ojibwe language and Indigenous traditions, teachings, and culture are preferred assets
Ability to work well individually as well as on a team
Passion for providing quality care and investing in strong, authentic relationships with children, families, and team members
High level of attention to confidentiality
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level
