Job Duties

Perform finishing techniques on machined, metal aircraft parts using a variety of hand and power tools, including:
Edge break
Deburring
Blending
Perform drilling and reaming of parts
Support 5S and Lean manufacturing processes
Maintain a tidy working space, conducting housekeeping as necessary
Keep up to date on current production needs and priorities
Inform the Supervisor of potential problems involving any parts, tools, or the work centre
Other tasks that may be assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

High School diploma (or equivalent)
Coursework, educational background, or previous experience in a field related to surface treatment or metalworking, such as Automotive body work, is considered a strong asset.
Previous, related coldwork experience is preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
Must be willing to work as part of a team.
Must be willing and able to accommodate flexible working schedules, including shift work.
Good written and spoken English.

Applicants must have the ability, or willingness to learn:

Basic blueprint reading, to understand and interpret drawing tolerance specifications.
Aerospace specification requirements
Quality system requirements
Safe operation of hand and power tools

This is a physically demanding job and requires the following:

Excellent hand and eye coordination
Ability to perform metal finishing work while standing for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs (cranes and lifting devices are available)
Safe use of hand and power tools
Ability to wear extensive Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout their shift.
