Job Summary
The
Marketing Coordinator Intern (1 year internship) will be responsible for the preparation of marketing proposals and support materials. The HARD-LINE Marketing Coordinator Intern will provide market research, strategy, and creative assistance where applicable.

The Marketing Coordinator Intern is also responsible for developing and executing HARD-LINE's public relations and media campaign strategies by managing HARD-LINE's online presence, media relations, press releases, and assisting with promotional campaigns and events.

This position will also act in a supporting role to all departments.


Key Areas of Responsibilities and Associated Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Implement marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing sales forecasts; preparing marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives; planning and organizing promotional presentations; updating calendars to reflect upcoming events and tradeshows.
  • Develop and execute public relations and media campaign strategies in line with HARD-LINE's goals and objectives.
  • Content creation for online and other communications, such as press releases, editorials and social media postings, that are engaging, concise and easy to understand.
  • Optimize company pages within each media platform to increase visibility.
  • Ongoing results and analytics reporting to assess the effectiveness of media and public relations campaigns.
  • Assist with organizing promotional campaigns and provide support at industry events.
  • Create and manage internal communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers and corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Business Development team to ensure brand consistency.
  • Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data.
  • Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Support Sales and R&D departments by providing market trends, forecasts, account analysis, new product information.
  • Research competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintaining research databases.
  • Plan meetings and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; and logistics.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in Marketing or related field
  • 12 years' experience in Marketing or similar role
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset

Core Competencies

  • Proficient with computer software (Excel, Word, Acrobat, PPT, InDesign)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience in project and event coordination is an asset
  • Experienced in media negotiation
  • Social media savvy
  • Detailed oriented
  • Experience in the mining industry or the technology sector would be an asset
  • Possess initiative, creativity, breadth of knowledge and a desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to translate HARD-LINE requirements to determine focus of tasks
  • Independent analytical problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs
