Bayview Glen is currently looking to hire a Unit Head for the start of Summer 2023 to be a part of our Head Staff/Camp Leadership Team.

This position reports directly to the Camp Director and is responsible for the direct supervision of campers ages 7-13 and their staff members.

Location: 85 Moatfield Dr, Toronto, ON M3B, Canada

  • Responsibilities and Duties_
  • Available to attend office hours and Head Staff weekend in the month of May until beginning of Camp in July.
  • Organize cabin groups based on camper selections.
  • Organize staff groups based on staff knowledge and comfort level of each specialty camp.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of staff group within the unity.
  • Manage specific camper behaviours that require additional attention and inform camp directors about them.
  • Monitor entire unit during lunch times.
  • Ensure all activities are providing campers with an immersive and fun experience.
  • Communicate with camp staff, and families regarding specific camper behaviours.
  • Communicate with parents in relation to specific difficult camper behaviours and log these conversations through our online software.
  • Communicate with staff members when they are not meeting expectation as outlined during precamp training.
  • Organize precamp training sessions/workshops for staff group.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience scheduling for around 100 campers.
  • Experience organizing training for staff on expectations while working with youth.
  • Valid Early Childhood Education certificate/degree.
  • Standard First Aid Training and CPR
  • C or higher required.
  • Comfortable providing detailed and written incident/accident reports.
  • Preference given to those applicants with previous experience within a camp setting.
  • As a condition of employment, a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check and First Aid certification will be required.
