Children's Autism Services of Edmonton is seeking Educational Assistants for our dynamic and growing organization.

At Children's Autism Services of Edmonton we provide family-centered services to meet the complex needs of children who have autism and other developmental disorders.

At Children's Autism Services of Edmonton you will work one on one with children with autism and other special needs in their classroom or early education setting.


As an Educational Assistant you will be part of a talented multidisciplinary team working with children, families and school teams.

The team (parents, teacher, consultants etc.) is responsible for implementing the goals of the child's Individual Program Plan and supporting and working closely with the child and school team to build capacity.


Your role as an Educational Assistant will involve:

  • Participating in ongoing training and in-services
  • Attending regular team meetings
  • Working in a child focused, supportive environment
  • Playing an active role in a child's school routine, collaborating with teacher, parents and the professional team to help the child reach their goals
  • Supporting children to foster independence in the classroom environment
  • This role will work in various schools throughout the city of Edmonton

Qualifications/Skills:


  • Applicants should have experience working with or caring for children and experience with child development.
  • Applicants must have a police information record check (including vulnerable sector), child intervention record check and First Aid & Level-C CPR.
  • Applicants should possess a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual

Contract length: 7 months


Salary:
$17.00-$20.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
