As the Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) Capital Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, management, and on-going improvement of our PMO.

Your primary focus will be to ensure the successful delivery of the TELUS Power and Space capital program on time, within budget, and in alignment with our strategic business goals.

You will lead a team of program and project managers, coordinate resources, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive program execution, standardize processes, and enhance overall program management maturity.


What you'll do

  • Confidently monitor performance, compliance and ensure all financial and contractual expectations are met
  • Drive unsurpassed reliability through directing repair and remediation activities, responding to adverse external events, and tightly coordinated maintenance activities
  • Advise, recommend, and present requirements, expectations, ideas, analysis, and concepts to a broad group of stakeholders
  • A champion of mission critical and real estate best practices, including the TELUS Master Maintenance Standard (TMMS) and process improvements
  • Manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ongoing operations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and support to team members and vendors, ensuring programs are properly planned, executed, monitored, and controlled.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define program objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Monitor and track program progress, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the PMO and across program and project teams.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends and incorporate relevant advancements into the organization's operational framework.

What you bring

  • Proven track record in providing leadership for mission critical power and environment solutions
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Effective leadership, coaching and motivational skills
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions professionally
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments and Service Providers
  • Ability to adhere to all safety training to ensure compliance
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, lead solutions
  • University Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related Technical Diploma
  • Minimum 10 years experience within Telecom Operations, Planning or Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a PMO or project management team.
  • 10+ years' experience in a Telecommunication or Power/Energy industry
  • Experience managing Service Providers
