About the Job:
IT Network and Systems Administrator


Objectives:


Provide overall administration and technical direction to coordinate and maintain all IT requirements, including network devices that are inclusive of switches WIFI Access points, printers as well as desktop and laptop hardware and software systems.

Perform all functions and responsibilities in conjunction with the Morton/Windsor Salt policies and procedures.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


  • Provide 1stand 2nd level administrative and diagnosis troubleshooting support of Cisco, Dell and Stratix based switching. Having a very strong understanding of IP networks inclusive of VLAN structures, IP network segmentation and IP routing. Administer, monitor, maintain optimal performance, connectivity and operation of Servers, Switches with respect to all LAN/WANrelated network sites and services.
  • First and second level support of all workstations, network peripheral devices, such as, printers, scanners, VOIP telephony, communication devices such as PLC's and other industrial IP devices, physical cabling, handheld scanners. Workstation OS from Windows 7 to Windows 1
  • Works closely with all IT functional areas such as Office IT, Plant IT, Applications, Hardware operational requirements for new and existing IT systems.
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors, external contractors, project team members and internal staff to ensure that IT standards are met with hardware/software and policies/procedures.
  • Analyze business processes and match systems hardware/software through development of technical solutions.
  • Design, install and maintain Production control and monitoring equipment/systems in a 24hour x 7 day a week operating environment.
  • Proactive management based upon preventative care. Continual improvement of configurations, technologies along with IT policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and implement network software.
  • Maintain and administer Phone System, Voice Mail System, video, fax and printer servers.
  • Completes Network Security Tasks including backups, antivirus/malware, antispam, and disaster plans.
  • Install, configure and maintain the following devices; notebooks/tablets/desktop, cellular devices, desk VOIP phones, printers, faxes, photocopier/scanning machines.
  • Maintain an inventory of installed software and hardware and manage licensing.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensuring that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Plan and implement various hardware and software upgrades including equipment refresh and Applications version upgrades, Windows updates and patches. Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines.
  • Provides user training and the creation of instruction manuals as required.
  • Provide critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission critical network environments.
  • Automate any and all tasks that can be automated.
  • Assists in hardware/software purchases.
  • Supports other key initiatives as the business dictates.
  • Third level support is provided and training into this role is provided.

Knowledge/Experience:


  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of ITIL processes and experience in utilizing ticketing systems such as Service Now.
  • Must fully and clearly document work procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in coordination with other team members.
  • Demonstrate a positive customer orientation in service delivery and be able to think logically and act decisively in critical situations.
  • Confident communication and customeroriented skills.
  • Handson experience installing IT hardware and software.
  • Microsoft certifications preferred, but qualified experience will be considered.
  • University or college degree an asset, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in this role.

Job Types:

Pay:
$66,200.00-$85,000.00 per year
