    Purpose

    Responsible for ensuring the functionality of the Data Acquisition Systems and the quality of the data gathered at the systems administrator level. Additionally, the Dispatch Engineer's responsibilities will include providing direction and focus to the site's Dispatch team, coordinating with other departments and stakeholders, and aligning area capabilities with site data requirements to ensure the mine's safety and production targets can be sustainably achieved.

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for supervising the Underground Dispatch department.
    • Responsible for providing training, coaching, and mentoring to Dispatchers and heavy equipment operators using the Fleet Management System.
    • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise technical upgrades and activities required to maintain or improve the Data Acquisitions Systems and associated elements' functionality while assuring data integrity.
    • Quality control, ensuring that all work within the Dispatch area is carried out efficiently and consistently, adhering to site and corporate operating procedures and policies.
    • Lead, generate, coordinate, and support initiatives (both internal and external) related to the data acquisition systems as "Site Champion" following the site and corporate guidelines while coordinating with the Operational Technology, Mining OSN, and Full Potential teams.
    • Evaluate new technologies and systems and lead their implementation.
    • Liaise with Engineering and Maintenance departments to achieve daily production targets.
    • Fulfill the stakeholder's data requirements by developing and deploying reports on-site or by third parties using appropriate platforms (i.e., SSRS, Tableau, Excel).
    • Support Mine Operations decision-making.
    • Monitor KPIs and work with the Ops Team to improve overall cycle times.
    • Effectively communicate with management regarding production shortfalls and areas of opportunity based on available data.

      Requirements
      • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
      • Preference for Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and in good standing order with PEO, or equivalent in other jurisdictions.
      • Experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor with demonstrated leadership competencies.
      • A minimum 4 years of mine operation and engineering experience. Experience in an underground environment preferable.
      • 2 - 3 years experience using Fleet Management Systems or Task Managers for Underground or Open Pit operations. Optimine or Deswik Ops knowledge preferable.
      • Self-motivated, with strong analytical and organizational skills and capacity to work under pressure.
      • High level of computer literacy (prefer candidates with exposure to Databases/SQL)
      • Well-developed communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
      • Previous experience working in a culturally diverse work environment.
      • Fluent in English.

        Working Conditions

        The work schedule for this position is 14 on, 14 days off, working 12-hour days.
