The Opportunity:


We are seeking a high-motivated, operationally focused, public market experienced
Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Office (CFO/COO) for a permanent full-time position at our Hamilton office.

Reporting to the
CEO, you will be responsible for the overall financial accountability, fiscal prudence, and financial reporting of the company, as well as strategic oversight of the following departments
:
Finance, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and Client Success & Support
.

You will drive operational excellence and will be rewarded for driving revenues, EBITDA, and share price growth in partnership with the CEO and senior leadership team.


Direct reports:
VP of Finance & Administration, VP of Operations, VP of Sales & Marketing, and VP of Client Success; dotted line support to Director of People & Culture


Key Responsibilities:


  • Internal_
  • Drive operational efficiency through operational oversight and assistance across all divisions
  • Internal reporting and company growth metric management
  • Setting and ensuring overall compliance with budgets and OPEX spends
  • Ensure positive cash flow, sufficient financial resources and continued EBITDA growth
  • Provide strategic input on financial and general business objectives
  • Manage overall business controls and policies to ensure compliance and execution
  • Assist CEO in developing business and share price growth strategy
  • Quarterly and Annual Business Plan and Forecast Preparation


  • M&A

  • Forecasting, business modelling, due diligence and secure acquisition funding through debt/equity (if necessary)
  • Maintain Stock Options Plan (Issuance, exercise, Black-Scholes)
  • Manage all audits (year end, tax, HST, payroll etc)
  • Collaborate with the Director of People & Culture on matters including but not limited to recruitment, performance management and development, and all related admin
  • Assist with due diligence of potentially acquired assets
  • Support potential divestures of assets from a finance and operational perspective
  • Lead integration of acquired assets into the business
  • Drive strong financial planning and analysis across the full business
  • External_
  • Responsible for all external financial reporting, both interim quarters and yearend audit.
  • Compile, review, approve and file all interim Financial Statements & MD&A
  • Compile, review, approve and file yearend Financial Statements & MD&A (Annual audit completed by GT)
  • Present Financials and MD&A to board and audit committee for approval and release quarterly and annually
  • Investor Relations Involvement
  • Interact with board and key stakeholders in the business
  • Main liaison between the company and various financial institutions (banks, lenders etc.)

Required Skills/Qualifications:


  • Must have successful CFO or COO experience in a business with less than 100 employees
  • Must have CPA designation
  • Must have experience as an executive of a publicly traded company
  • Ideally 10+ years' experience in a financial executive position
  • Have worked for a SaaSbased business in the technology field
  • Must be a strong operational not just financial leader for the business
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and develop finance, operations, and sales teams, as well as others
  • Ability to understand and help execute the company's M&A strategy
  • Local to Hamilton/GTA area and willing to be onsite 23 days per week

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Accounting system, ERP and/or CRM technical understanding and development
  • Ability to assess present systems and implement efficiency changes
  • Successful track record in helping to lead operations, sales and marketing
  • Successful track record of successfully scaling and selling a business
  • Experience in the loyalty marketing, payments, or pointofsale industry
  • Capital markets experience
  • Experience with privatization or sale of a business
  • Board of Directors experience
  • Interest in potential succession planning for the CEO
