This position is based out of beautiful Oliver British Columbia.

The Job:

The
Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for directing and controlling sanitation staff at the plant level. The individual is required to meet or exceed cleanliness standards determined by CanadaGAP in a timely manner. The Sanitation Supervisor must be a good communicator and positive advocate for good employee relations. This position will involve delegating activities, training, overseeing, and participating in plant cleaning tasks as needed.

  • Provides leadership to small groups of sanitizers by leading or directing custodial activities during scheduled work periods (including weekends and overtime periods)
  • Enforce all Cooperative safety (worker and food) procedures to employees under their supervision
  • Assists with the development of an effective team of sanitation personnel by instructing employees in the proper methods and use of cleaning materials and equipment and providing corrective guidance and assistance when necessary to meet established performance standards
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
  • Trains subordinate supervisors in job skills, proper cleaning methods, and use of equipment, safety practices, firefighting and prevention, and in work regulation
  • Oversees the cleaning and sanitation requirements for the entire facility, monitoring, controlling and managing all workflows and schedules. Including but not limited to building, interior & exterior, equipment, tools, all surfaces included in overheads etc. to ensure that there is a suitable Master Sanitation Schedule that is written, updated, and managed as per Food Safety requirements and ensures our compliance to all regulatory and sanitation needs for our Food Safety and Quality program.
  • Monitors work habits of staff to ensure work quality and productivity
  • Ensures that all work procedures are being properly performed through hands on leadership, training, observations and monitoring of all personal within the team. Ongoing support where needed and updating all appropriate documentation within the department t o ensure that all Health and Safety and Food Safety practices are being trained and enforced and that all regulatory compliance is maintained. Working to all Lean objectives of the team and to ensure that all budgets and procurement of required equipment and chemicals are closely monitored and controlled
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies used in largescale janitorial activities of the service.
  • Thorough knowledge of the qualities, adaptabilities, and uses of common tools, equipment, and materials used in cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of methods used in the cleaning of buildings.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.
  • Considerable knowledge of vector control practices.
  • Ability to maintain cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to train and supervise a large group of employees.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
