About Us
The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) is an indigenous-governed, culture-based and Indigenous-informed organization.

Its key mandate is to support the advancement and evolution of Indigenous primary health care services provision and planning throughout Ontario.

Membership includes Aboriginal Health Access Centres (AHAC), Aboriginal governed Community Health Centres (ACHS), other Indigenous governed providers and partnering Indigenous health researchers and scholars.


Overview

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research to inform project communication plans
  • Develops and supports organizational communication plans
  • Tracks and monitors outreach activities
  • Prepares monthly analytic reports for the website, social media, sector trends, and media monitoring.
  • Coordinates and contributes to the development and maintenance of knowledgesharing materials: fact sheets, resources, infographic, toolkits, etc.
  • Coordinates the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials
  • Supports the implementation of multiple communication campaigns in collaboration with the Communications Team, IPHCC member sites, and external agencies.
  • Coordinates meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action items and followups
  • Coordinates the calendar and logístical arrangements for IPHCC initiatives and events
  • Maintains information on digital platforms
  • Develops promotional and outreach materials, media briefs, releases, PowerPoint presentations and briefing notes for senior management and the Board
  • Formats and maintains communication templates
  • Prepares funder reports for submission
  • Establishes strong relationships with IPHCC members, government partners, and other stakeholders
  • Support internal teams with respective program support and communications branding
  • Assists with the development and implementation of strategies and campaigns to further strengthen IPHCC's brand
  • Applies IPHCC's brand across all print and digital communications
  • Assists in the development of IPHCC annual reports

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Indigenous Studies, Health Administration, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • 13 years proven experience with writing, editing and publication coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Understanding of cultural safety principles
  • Willing to undertake other tasks, activities, and responsibilities as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Possess analytical skills and ability to think critically
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of internet culture and proven track record with social media tools
  • Ability to conduct work in keeping with IPHCC's commitment to antioppression, antiracism and Indigenous Cultural Competency framework

Compensation
Salary is commensurate on qualifications, experience and is set within the IPHCC's established salary grid and policy guidelines.
