Our resort is not owned or operated by a large ski conglomerate; rather by a bunch of local skiers and riders who are passionate about steep terrain and great snow.

Operational decisions are made here (head office = the basement of the day lodge) and our long-term direction is plotted by a group of passionate, volunteer board of directors who represent more than 200, predominately local shareholders.


About The Position:


The Maintenance Office Assistant's primary responsibilities, are to assist in the coordination and implementation, of Mountain Office the Maintenance Department's Computer Software Management System.

Assist with administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Castle Mountain Resort maintenance team.

This will include various office duties, maintaining the shop inventory, assisting the maintenance team when needed, and overseeing the OH&S program in the maintenance shop.

Job Duties:


  • Assist the department with the ordering of parts and oversee the receiving of parts.
  • Maintain shop inventory system with accurate pricing.
  • Maintain the appropriate levels of shop consumables.
  • Oversee purchase ordering system.
  • Verify the accuracy of deliveries and follow up with suppliers in case of discrepancies.
  • Provide overall office and administrative support as needed.
  • Assist other maintenance staff with their tasks when needed.
  • Complete odd jobs around the shop.

Requirements:


  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when entering and preparing documents.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a maintenance shop environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic tools.
  • A positive attitude, ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, and a genuine excitement for an outdoor lifestyle.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Positive and proactive approach to teamwork and working with others required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised for long periods of time.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder is preferred.
  • Ability to use desktop computers and peripheral devices.
  • Adhere to Castle Mountain Resort's policies and procedures, as laid out in the employee handbook.

Work Conditions:


  • Generally working inside the shop, but at times outside in variable weather conditions.
  • Off season hours, 10 hrs/day, Mon to Thurs, Seasonal schedule 10 hrs/day 4 on 3 off, working weekends may be required.
  • This is a remote location. Own vehicle and comfort with winter driving is required.

Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location with no mobile coverage or public transit.
