Summer at Perimeter is busy and we need your help. We have summer student positions available throughout the Institute, running from May 6, 2024 to August 23, 2024.


Media Technology Summer Student


Perimeter's Media Technology (audio/visual) team is busy over the summer supporting and recording the many events and conferences that take place at Perimeter.

Working closely with the Media Technology team, the Media Technology Summer Student will play an important role in ensuring Perimeter employees, students and visitors receive the best support during their conferences and seminars, gaining hands-on experience in various elements of media production.


  • Primary duties include_:
  • Record and produce highquality video content for various platforms and audiences using bestofbreed technologies
  • Support Perimeter employees, students and visitors with video conferencing and presentation technology
  • Work with other Technology Services department units to ensure appropriate delivery of IT enduser support
  • Assist with install and commissioning of new equipment and technologies
  • What we need:_
  • Basic understanding of media editing and production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Ability to work and adapt to a rapidly changing, highly technical environments
  • Display artistic aptitude with an exceptional sense of visual esthetics and design
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Current or graduating student in post secondary education such as Audio/Visual Production, Film and Television, or an Information Technology related field is preferred
  • Stellar time management skills
  • If we're being greedy we'd also like:_
  • Experience with supporting AV control systems
  • Experience in broadcasting or live streaming
  • Understanding of IT (information technology) technologies
  • Desire to develop and produce procedures to support enduser needs
