    Venor is proud to partner with Capital Foodservice on their search for a Director of Finance. Capital Foodservice is a family-owned and operated business. It is a well established and recognized full service provider of both food service and retail products.

    Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance is a strategic partner who will lead and develop the organization's finance team, engage in all financial processes, and work closely and collaboratively with the organization's finance team. This role will provide high-level financial analysis to support strategic and operational business functions by creating financial and operational strategy (including metrics tied to that strategy); developing and monitoring the control systems designed to preserve company assets; and reporting accurate financial results. The Director of Finance will have oversight for all control risks that impact the financial results of the organization, ensuring the organization is pacing towards its financial targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Manage and oversee all accounting and financial functions of the company, including accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
    • Maintain and improve effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes, including variance analysis, and reporting to senior management.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of new financial systems, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and sales, to provide financial analysis and support for business decisions.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.

    What we are looking for:

    • You have a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience gained from a growing business, leading and developing others in a similar progressive financial role.
    • Experience supporting decisions based on data, creating/implementing internal controls and procedures, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize resources and streamline processes is essential.
    • A Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on accounting is required along with a CPA designation.
    • Direct experience with ERP systems, actively collaborating with IT personnel to oversee and/or enhance accounting system functionality.
    • General business knowledge in areas such as contracts, leases, and banking, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with external professionals and service providers, enhances your suitability for this role.
