About the Job
The Sustainment and Optimization (S & O) Team serves as a central force within OTTO Motors' Professional Services organization.

With a keen focus on delivering impactful solutions for end users, channel partners, and OTTO Motors, our SEs specialize in designing and implementing fleets of cutting-edge OTTO autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and accompanying software.

Their expertise extends to seamlessly integrating these solutions into client facilities, complemented by providing comprehensive training for integration partners and end-users.

Beyond these valuable contributions, they play a crucial role by offering Tier-3 triage support to our Client Success team.

An integral aspect of their dynamic role involves actively contributing to defining product requirements and shaping the OTTO Motors product roadmap.

This presents an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of innovation, enabling a direct influence on product evolution in response to the ever-evolving needs of the industry.


Primary responsibilities:


  • Commission and integrate AMR systems globally, involving travel for onsite deployment and integration with facilityside automation equipment.
  • Support detailed solutions design of AMR systems using OTTO Motors products, encompassing workflow, attachment, map design, and development/modification of middlelayer software logic.
  • Author and execute acceptance test plans for system functionality and performance validation.
  • Optimize system performance through analysis, simulation, and experimentation.
  • Conduct project planning for deliverables and work packages.
  • Communicate technical details and status to customers and the broader project team.
  • Consult with integration partners on various aspects.
  • Deliver training to integration partners and end users.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware technical issues using internal tools.
  • Solve new and challenging technical problems.
  • Provide Tier3 advanced technical support to customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Offer afterbusinesshours rotational oncall escalation support.
  • Act as a customer advocate internally.
  • Ability to travel for business within North and South America, Europe, and Asia; ~3545% travel commitment over the year, with travel mostly contained to Canada and the USA. Travel frequency may vary monthly.

Additional responsibilities:


  • Author new product requirements based on lessons learned from design and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team to enhance department tools, processes, and working relationships with other departments.
  • Support the technical setup and optimization of workflows at trade shows.

Required background:


  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Customerfacing work experience
  • Experience commissioning and integrating industrial automated equipment or software interfacing with the equipment
  • Basic understanding of technology and robotics
  • Solid grasp of software architecture and IT systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical systems/subsystems

  • Past experience with AMR/AGV systems integration
  • Training users of automated equipment/software
  • Authoring and modifying software code (Python, C++, or other)
  • Experience with inductive Automation Ignition OPC/UA
