Description
Job Title: Brewing Operator

Department: Brewing & Processing

Reports To: Line Leader

Shift: Night shift

Key Objectives:

The Brewing Operator will be in charge of tasks in the brewhouse, cellars, filtration, and blending following all safety procedures to generate wort, supervise fermentation, and aging cellars, and manage the filtration cellar to carry out all steps in producing beers, ciders, and ready-to-drink blends.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensure practices align with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
  • Complete all production reports and forms accurately
  • Report maintenance issues to Line Leader
  • Report any deviations from standard procedures to Line Leader
  • Report safety issues to the Line Leader
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Line Leader

Example Schedule: 12-hour straight continental shifts on Nights (7pm-7am)

Week 1: 2 days on (Mon & Tues), 2 off (Wed & Thurs), 3 days on (Fri-Sun)

Week 2: 2 days off (Mon & Tues), 2 days on (Wed & Thurs), 3 days off (Fri-Sun)

Weekend Shift Premium of $2.00 per hour

Night Shift Premium of $4.00 per hour

Education, Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field preferred
  • Computer literate
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements
  • Stand, lift up to 20lbs, twist, bend, and climb
  • Work shifts and overtime as needed
  • Work in a team environment
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Work continental shifts; includes every other weekend

Working Conditions
  • Cold cellar temperatures approx. 4°
  • Warm brewhouse temperatures up to approx. 30°
  • Exposure to outside elements during tanker receiving
  • Physical tasks such as climbing stairs, bending, twisting, lifting, pulling hoses
