Description
The primary role of the Distribution Manager is to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the distribution centre. The incumbent facilitates order management by overseeing the receipt, storage, loading and dispatch of orders while maintaining KPI's. The Distribution Manager oversees the receipt, storage, and replenishment of product. The incumbent also manages employees and maintains strong customer relationships by adhering to Service Level Agreements.

What you'll do

  • Maintain a productive, high performing team through recruiting, selecting, orienting and training. Develop personal growth opportunities for team members.
  • Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating and ensuring compliance to systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.
  • Assign tasks and duties related to new and ongoing projects to the team members.
  • Develop and implement work schedules and assignments.
  • Set department goals and objectives to meet corporate strategic goals.
  • Create and communicate achievable benchmarks for efficiency, accuracy and productivity. Measure these benchmarks against established objectives and internal KPI's.
  • Maximize cost efficiency with staffing while minimizing temporary labour needs.
  • Manage the Distribution Centre's P&L including budget and staffing requirements.
  • Prepare reports on the Distribution Centre's activities including overtime, attendance management, productivity and KPI's. Review operating goals and standards, and monitor performance.
  • Ensure compliance of all health and safety and AIB regulations and policies. Address and report any issues requiring attention immediately. Track all incidents and accidents and complete appropriate paperwork as required.
  • Oversee Distribution Centre daytoday activities by answering questions, evaluating operations and solving problems.
  • Maintain a tour ready facility by ensuring a clean, organized and working distribution centre.

What you bring to the role

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Warehousing / Distribution with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of GMP and AIB.
  • Valid current MHE Operating Certificate for forklift equipment (Reach and Counterbalance).
  • Strong leader in health and safety practices.
  • Knowledge of warehousing methodology, RF Scanners and inventory management practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills in a team environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Team cooperation and respect is required.
  • Analytical and detailoriented.
  • Work well under pressure in a time sensitive environment.
