Eye Centre Support Role

This is a support role in an eye centre where the successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide assistance with surgical procedures. The Eye Centre Support Specialist will assist in preparing and maintaining equipment, supplies and instruments for ophthalmology cases.

About This Job

The ideal candidate for this position should have strong communication skills, be able to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records. Additionally, they should have knowledge of medical terminology and be physically fit enough to perform tasks that involve lifting or moving equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Picking and distributing OR instrument sets, supplies and equipment for opthalmology cases according to established procedures;
• Assisting the operative team with preparation of surgical setup, take down and transfer of instruments to SPD;
• Maintaining implant records including documentation of patient specific information regarding eye implants;

Please note: To be considered eligible you must possess Grade 12 education along with completion of Sterile Supply Processing course plus one year recent experience related job or equivalent combination education training experience.
