    Description

    Responsibilities

    :

    Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Sustainability, the Program Manager, Climate and Environment will manage the environmental strategy in support of IGM's overall Corporate Sustainability program.

    1. Strategy and climate transition planning

  • Contribute to the development of a climate transition plan with goals and targets for operational and value chain commitments
  • Work across the organization to monitor the implementation of the climate transition plan, delivering measurable results and supporting decision-making for key leaders and executives
  • In collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, develop new programs and initiatives
  • Facilitate internal working groups in the development of policies, procedures, and action plans

    • 2. Scenario analysis and risk management

  • Support engagement with the business in developing and executing on climate-related risk management practices (scenario analysis, financial risk assessments, etc.)
  • Assist with the climate risk strategy and quantification of climate-related impacts
  • Identify climate metrics and KRIs, developing a process to measure, manage and report on the metrics

    • 3. Reporting and disclosure

  • Support annual IGM sustainability reporting, collaborating with various internal teams
  • Lead annual CDP reporting including project management and stakeholder collaboration
  • Support Finance team in interpreting emerging standards, greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, data management and assurance
  • Support the selection of data systems and service providers, as required, to support climate and environmental data and metrics

    • 4. Thought leadership

  • Represent IGM externally, participate in industry networks
  • Advise leadership on emerging environmental and climate-related trends and industry developments to inform the execution of the strategy
  • Provide input into public consultations related to policies and regulations

    • Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field of study (Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Business), specialized climate training considered a strong asset
  • 5-10 years of relevant climate, environment, and sustainability experience (financial services experience is an asset)
  • Knowledge of climate change and GHG emissions, target setting, and mitigation strategies
  • Experience in sustainability and/or climate reporting (CDP experience considered a strong asset)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong collaborator and ability to influence senior management and employees to drive change
  • Articulate and effective communicator (written, oral, presentation)
