Overview:
The Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing plant.
You understand the importance of balancing production, maintenance, and your team's need, while being accountable for the safety of each person.
You will report to the Plant Manager and be a key member of the Plant Management team. As such responsible for providing overall leadership to the entire plant and the people that work there. You will work closely with Area Supervisors to ensure efficient and effective operations within the plant.Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of production workers to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing plant.
- Oversee production schedules and monitor production performance to ensure that production targets are met.
- Ensure that all production processes are carried out in accordance with established quality standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in relation to the 5S program, to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations; WSIB and health and safety standards.
- Assist with, managing the staffing requirements to meet production and expansion demands.
- Assist in training new and existing team members.
- Manage, motivate and coach existing and new staff to meet production target and performance goals.
- Further establish employee relations and help to resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Identify and resolve production targets and performance goals.
- Oversee and manage the welding department.
- Liaise with union representatives.
- Other duties as required.
Specific Experience:
- Proven track record of success in managing production schedules, reducing waste, and improving efficiency.
- Managing in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge around WSIB and Health and Safety
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software

Compensation Offer
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Permanent, Fulltime, Monday-Friday, 44 hours/week
- Located in Ottawa, Ontario
