Job purpose:

The Pricing Data Coordinator is a data management expert who organizes data for further use by our analysts.

Primary responsibilities include collecting data from different sources, interaction with Vendors and Category managers, data validation and verification, maintaining data integrity and security, ensuring proper organizing of information.

This role also coordinates the administrative activities within the Pricing department. The Pricing Data Coordinator reports to Pricing Manager.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Using Excelbased tools, run cost changes related reports, review incoming vendor cost changes, validate and verify cost updates, update internal information system.
  • Collect vendor MAP policies and MSRPs updates, liaise with vendors regarding MAP violations, price list updates and seek clarity on costs/retail pricing data from vendors as necessary.
  • Perform analysis of vendor cost changes, communicate to Category Managers, and receive approvals when necessary.
  • Review and update inbound freight rates in internal information system, as well as other cost related rates/duties: import/export duties, packaging, outbound shipping, etc.
  • Monitor Vendor term agreements.
  • Participates with Price Manager on creation/maintenance of activity schedules by category/season (Price List updates).
  • First contact for the Pricing Department on daytoday questions. Reviews incoming correspondence and requests; responds accordingly, or distributes to colleagues to address.

Education and experience:


  • Solid practical knowledge of MS Excel (advanced level) pivot tables, power query, power pivot, advanced formulas like INDEX, MATCH, etc., VBA.
  • 2 years of experience related to pricing, marketing data analysis, accounting, finance or similar


  • Postsecondary degree

  • Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, IT.
  • Knowledge of Lee Valley products and retail experience considered as an asset

Communication:

Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written). This position assumes extensive interactions with colleagues and vendors.


Job specific skills:


  • Proficient Excel user (pivot tables, power query, power pivot, advanced formulas like INDEX, MATCH, etc., VBA).
  • General understanding of retail pricing (vendor cost, landed cost, MSRPs, MAPs, margin, etc.)
  • Ability to calculate margin, cost, price, based on predefined rules and guidelines (MS Excel).
  • Ability to create SQL queries.
  • Ability to effectively manage significant amount of data (10k+ records).

Problem solving:


  • Strong attention to details and exceptional level of accuracy
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies and errors in pricing data provided
  • Ability to perform basic pricing analysis: % margins change, impact on $ margin, etc.

  • Ability to commit to and meet deadlines, communicate progress
  • Communicate plans, actions, risks, and issues with key stakeholders
  • Works independently, selfstarter
  • Manage and building relationships with multiple teams
  • Analytical mindset, great attention to details
