Nestled in amongst some of the most magnificent scenery Alberta has to offer, Elk Point is the right place to be Elk Point is located in the County of St Paul, in east-central Alberta, with a population of approximately 1,500. We offer an arena, a public library, a fitness centre, the Elk Point Water Spray Park, excellent housing opportunities, schools, and a day care facility. Elk Point has a full range of services including two grocery stores, several convenience stores, pharmacies, a bakery, clothing and variety stores, and many restaurants. As a Health Care Aide, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team, working at or out of our Home Care department, serving our community, country, and lodge clients, as well as other departments in our facility. You will be providing client care services within the client's home, under the supervision of a regulated healthcare professional.
Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications:Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
