Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Community College Diploma in a related field such as Medical Office Administration, Health, Law or Social Sciences (willing to consider applicants with combination of experience and education)
2 years of experience working directly with patients, staff, affiliates and the public in a hospital environment
1year experience working in an environment which involves dealing with sensitive and/or confidential personal and/or business information
Experience working in a policy office and/or patient relations office
Knowledge of Outlook, Internet Explorer, and demonstrated intermediate level skill with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Effective communication skills both verbal and written and ability to deescalate situations
Understanding and ability to recognize and provide resources to callers who may be in crisis
Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet established deadlines
Ability to work effectively within a team or independently using above average level of initiative
Ability to identify opportunities and strategies to enhance process efficiency and workflow
Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), FIPPA, and Quality of Care Information Protection Act
Knowledge of and ability to work with the St. Joseph's Policy Console
Understanding of insurance and medical legal processes
Knowledge of health privacy and information protection issues
Knowledge of corporate policies

Teaching and Research

St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
