THE ORGANIZATION:


The
Kee Tas Kee Now Tribal Council (KTC) is comprised of the member Nations of: Loon River First Nation - #476, Lubicon Lake Band - #453, Peerless Trout First Nation - #478, Whitefish Lake First Nation - #459 and Woodland Cree First Nation - #474.

KTC was formed in 1995 to facilitate joint action by the member Nations on matters of mutual concern.


While there are many similarities between the Five (5) KTC member Nations, each has its own unique character and features.

All are surrounded by a warmth and beauty rich with culture and traditions of the Cree people.


The primary role of the Tribal Council is to provide guidance and support to the individual member First Nations in developing and achieving success in the management and administration of their own programs with the intent of developing self-reliance.

***Under the leadership of the Chief Executive / Operating Officer, the Business Development & Industry Relations Lead will lead the implementation of a business development strategy. You will develop and nurture relationships to identify mutually beneficial business-to-business and other partnership opportunities in support of KTC strategy and operations. The Business Development & Industry Relations Lead will provide business expertise, consultation and leadership to the Organization and to the KTC Management and has full responsibility for the development of New/Current Business opportunities for the organization. This position is directly instrumental in building, implementing and maintaining our business platform from which the organization may achieve its goals to ultimately lead to realizing the vision of the Tribal Council.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the KTC community in working toward achieving economic independence, through the administration of programs and services which contribute to an increased quality of life for the membership of KTC
  • Take over and manage existing files and business currently underway at the collective tribal council level
  • Conduct mini feasibility assessments on collective tribal council business matters
  • Oversee the KTC business development strategic plan implementation and updates
  • Communicate with our Local Chiefs of KTC in strategic planning, issue resolution and decisionmaking skills
  • Present complex ideas to diverse audiences, build positive relationships and establish clear expectations
  • Align leadership, organizational climate and resources to support KTC's strategic management framework
  • Develop policies and administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in urban and rural areas
  • Develop strategic initiatives for sourcing new business, establishing prefer partnerships, implementing sales and marketing activities and increasing revenue.
  • Define and enhance industry strategy by crafting a compelling value proposition, identifying valuecreation opportunities, and negotiating thirdparty partnerships.
  • Support the reengineering of KTC's business sector.
  • Plan development projects and coordinate activities with representatives of a wide variety of industrial and commercial enterprises, community, business' and government agencies
  • Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to attract venture capital
  • Respond to enquiries from members of the business community and general public concerning development opportunities.
  • Review and evaluate commercial or industrial development proposals and provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval
  • Develop social and economic profiles of urban and rural areas to encourage industrial and commercial investment and development.
  • Develop strategic alliances with local banks, lenders and other professional firms.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and facilitate as required.
  • Plan and develop Ecommerce strategies.
  • Provide consultation (where required) on planning and starting of new businesses.
  • Analyze and provide advice on the managerial methods and organization of a public or private sector establishment
  • Provide guidance and support to businesses on regulatory policies and procedures; ensure internal compliance with regulatory requirements; and prepare submissions and filings with regulatory bodies
  • May supervise contracted researchers or clerical staff.
  • Manage training and presentation collateral on SharePoint System, resulting in recycling of documentation for consistent messaging across the organization.
