The CO (Central Office) Installation Technician is a dynamic position out of Whitby.
The CO Installation Technician will be responsible for ensuring the installation of equipment in a timely manner with a professional approach to customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for survey new installation and ordering required materials
- Review and interpret network installation drawings
- Completing Rack & Stack of equipment, DC Power cabling and termination, Fiber Splicing, Cable termination
- Meet and exceeds customer expectations with a highlevel of service
- Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of the installation and applicable charges, as well as any issues that may arise, to customers
- Provide accurate information on all job statuses, communicating any delays to management
- Prepare and update time sheets and expense reports accurately and on time
- Must ensure the health & safety of themselves and customers in an environmentally friendly manner
- Follow all safety policies and initiatives and bring forth any recommendations; attend safety meetings as required
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience within the Telecommunications CO Work is preferred
- Must have experience working with DC Power
- Working knowledge of Copper and Fiber cabling, Fiber splicing and asset
- Ability to read and interpret published work plans for installation purposes
- Analytically and mechanically inclined; strong technical skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and able to provide a Drivers' Abstract
- Must be willing and able to clear appropriate Security Licensing as per Provincial requirements
- Must be willing to travel
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Customer focused both internally and externally, excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
- Selfstarter, able to stay on task with mínimal supervision; problem solve or escalate any issues that arise as required
- Able to lift, carry and manipulate 75 lb equipment and cable
- Ability to work independently in all environments.
