Advanced Care Paramedic - Edmonton, Canada - Industrial Paramedic Services (IPS)

Description

The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) will provide immediate Advanced Life Support medical care when summoned without delay, properly triage, advise and/or arrange for timely transport the a health care facility as needed.

• Read, understand and comply with IPS's Medical Control Guidelines, Safety Policies and Job Procedures, as well as all applicable government laws and regulations;
• Work within their applicable job scope of practice determined by their licensing body and under the medical control of the Medical Director, utilizing the IPS Medical Control Guidelines;
• Always act in a manner that ensures the patient's dignity, safety, privacy and confidentiality;
• Ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional onsite medical care and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to additional medical care as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor

• Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures;
• Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures;
• Report to IPS Supervision and Management immediately after any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker's health and/or safety;
• Refuse work if danger is imminent or not controlled.

• Current (unrestricted) registration as a Paramedic with the Alberta College of Paramedics
• Valid class 4 driver's license
• Previous Paramedic experience
• Previous industrial experience is an asset

• 12 hour shift

• Overtime pay

• Please submit your Alberta College of Paramedics registration number

• Class 5 License with clean a clean abstract (preferred)
• Registration with the ACOP (required)
