As an integral member of Nutrition Services Department, the responsibilities of the Nutrition Center Supervisor include: providing direct and indirect supervision to staff in the nutrition centers and other areas as needed; performing nutrition care responsibilities; performing a variety of activities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of assigned areas; ensure that patient meal trays are up to the standard of food quality, quantity, and accuracy.

ensuring assigned areas have appropriate food and other supplies to allow the centers to work effectively. Performing cross-functional duties as assigned or requested, performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an approved Food and Nutrition Management Program at a Community College or a University Graduate of a Food and Nutrition program
  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) required
  • Completion of a Food Handler Certification Program required.
  • Two (2) years related supervisory experience preferred
  • Therapeutic nutrition knowledge/knowledge of food preparation and allergies
  • Computer literacy using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to focus on priorities and activities to meet the day to day requirements
  • Knowledge of CBORD computer program preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare and unionized environment preferred
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
