Reporting to Manager, Business Intelligence, this position is responsible in coordinating Business Intelligence Services in the corporation to provide insightful information for the data driven decision-making.

This position plays a critical role in adopting BI and Analytics best practices in coordination with other team members, AFSC internal staff, and external support providers.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize potential use cases for advanced analytics.
  • Gather business requirements, design, and develop analytical products such as statistical models, canned reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards.
  • Perform data cleaning and preprocessing where required and create data pipeline for modeling.
  • Write scripts to analyze data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.
  • Explore statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems for identified use cases.
  • Explore diverse sources of data, extract relevant features to improve model performance and predictive accuracy.
  • Run data analysis with scenarios to assist in improving the programs delivered by AFSC.
  • Communicate and explain analytical process and results to business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and execute the functional and acceptance testing for analytical models and BI products.
  • Assist in the deployment of analytical models and BI products in the operational platforms.
  • Create and maintain technical and user documentation to a high standard.

Qualifications:


  • University Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics or Information Systems with 2 years of related experience
  • Strong programming background in Python and/or R with experience in technical leadership is required.
  • Programming skill in SAS language is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in geospatial data is considered as an asset.
For those not meeting the minimum education, additional related work experience will be deemed equivalent. Pro-active in continued professional and personal skill development is an ongoing expectation.
