Within Ontario Health, the Information Management, Data and Analytics Support Portfolio supports the design, implementation, and management of provincial information management/information technology solutions on behalf of the ministry.

In collaboration with OH and system partners, IMDA has developed and defined near real time data collection standards, methodology, tools, and business practices imperative to ensure high quality data is readily available to a wide variety of healthcare stakeholders.

Our unique approach to data lifecycle management (acquisition, management, and utilization) provides meaningful information to provincial health system stakeholders to improve access, performance, efficiency, and quality of care.

Our work guides real-time decision making and planning; informs the evaluation of healthcare system performance; and offers recommendations to ensure a sustainable healthcare future.

Here is what you will be doing:
  • Provides leadership support to ensure standardized management and methodologies when overseeing data quality operations.
  • Acts as a centralized team resource to support data quality reports/ investigations objectives and requirements.
  • Accountable for consistent management of issues and escalations, providing recommendations to the Manager, as required.
  • Partners with the Manager to define objectives, standards and prioritize key activities.
  • Supports the Manager with strategic planning initiatives to advance the data quality service and model.
  • Performs assignments and special projects in support of departmental objectives and the evolution of the data quality service.
  • Develops and assists in the implementation of solutions to address unique or highly complex business problems, ensuring the solution is thorough and practical.
  • Responds to business inquiries, creating reusable inquiry documentation, and keeping documentation updated related assigned projects or initiatives.
  • Performs cross
  • functional and other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience- A master's degree in Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Health sciences, Health Administration or related field is an asset; an undergraduate Degree in Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Health Sciences, Health Administration, or related field is required.- 3+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role or leading complex projects, initiatives and/or operations is required.- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.- Exceptional attention to detail required.


Knowledge and Skills- Sound knowledge data quality fundamentals- Advanced knowledge of SAS, SAS Macros, Excel is required.- Demonstrated planning and project management skills and can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Excellent presentation, technical writing, facilitation, and training skills.

Presents complex concepts clearly and effectively to key stakeholders.- Superior ability to analyze and identify problems, evaluate alternatives, find solutions, and make decisions.- Demonstrates exceptional tactical and critical strategic thinking.- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare databases (prior experience with OH Wait Times data is an asset).- Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with a broad variety of clients, staff, and external organizations.- Must be creative, forward thinking, detail oriented.- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
