**Job Description: - Responsible for QA related data collection and other data as directed. May require delegation of certain data collection tasks.

  • Responsible for reviewing QA program across Hatchery locations to ensure consistency and that all required data is captured. Responsible for reporting and making recommendations from this data according to the schedule of the QA program.
  • Responsible for executing QA program at assigned Hatchery and supervision QA Technicians at the other Hatchery locations.
  • Assist in egg temperature readings prior to transfer and as required
  • Support, and assist in turn down of Hatchers
  • Be a part of continuous improvement of the QA program. Provide recommendations and source recommendations from staff and QA technicians on ways to improve QA program.
  • Perform Egg residue breakouts as required
  • Coordinate internal fluff sampling with the Lab
  • Support Hatchery research programs as required.
  • Maintain and ensure that documentation is correct and recorded across all hatchery divisions. Report breakout database errors to the persons responsible at each hatchery location.
  • Support analysis & troubleshooting of Hatchery variances for continuous improvement
  • Assisting the Manager, Veterinary & Breeder Services in gathering any required samples for submission to Animal Health Lab or Laboratory at Curtis Chicks.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance SOP development and training
  • Validate chick quality and CCP measurements
  • Recommend, develop collaboratively, and propose continuous research projects.
  • Work collaboratively with Managers and Supervisors to identify QA related problems and propose solutions or methods to find solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • Post Secondary Diploma in related filed preferred
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License class G
  • Some relative experience required; at least 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Teamplayer with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical, with problemidentification and problemsolving capabilities;
  • Ability to work / excel in a fastpaced environment where attention to detail and effective multitasking is essential;
  • Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the job; including, but not limited to lifting up to 40lb, standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs with equipment.
  • Skilled in using MS Office, Excel, and Access
