    Your Opportunity:

    Description:

    As an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), you will transport ill or injured patients from scenes of emergency and/or between facilities. This includes operating ambulances or other modes of transportation; assessing emergency scenes and patients; providing simple treatments and completing required documentation including patient care reports. You will assist with ensuring that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles, such as non-emergent transport (NET), are properly stocked and equipped.

    Required Qualifications:

    Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP) as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) issue by Heart and Stroke. Must be able to obtain a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator Licence, or equivalent, and a current five (5) year driver¿s abstract - within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits prior to commencing of employment. Must provide proof of certificate of successful completion of Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation ( test by the Lifemark, or an approved equivalent test, prior to receiving an offer of employment - applicable to all applicants, including AHS employees who do not hold a clinical position within AHS EMS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP and Community Paramedic).
