    As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients. You will have the opportunity to expand your career by working on exciting and high-profile water, waste, and energy projects.

    Your experience in the industry and/or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Hydrological and hydraulic analyses, assessment of climatic data, and development of detailed water balances.
    • Interact with internal and external teams (environmental, regulatory, and engineering) on multidisciplinary projects related to infrastructure development, and water supply.
    • Working with and mentoring Junior staff
    • Development and execution of hydrogeological site characterization projects and their supporting field programs.
    • Planning, managing, and participating in field programs including installation, testing, and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater supply wells.
    • Producing and reviewing technical reports and communication of results to clients and regulators.
    • Contribute to projects by incorporating the input of many different parties into well-written reports and deliverables. Produce high quality models, research, presentations, client reports and technical proposals.
    • Technical report preparation and communication of results to clients and regulators.
    • Complete front-end, preliminary and detailed design in a variety of technical contexts.
    • Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers.
    • Support business development and proposal writing. Establishing man-hours, cost and schedule estimates for project deliverables.
    • Support the ongoing management and development of our environmental database to generate and interpret tables, graphics, and statistical analysis.

    Position Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited curriculum in Geological, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
    • 5+ years of applicable experience or consulting experience conducting hydrogeological investigations of various sites.
    • Must be fluent in English and legally able to work in Canada.
    • Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to and work in remote project sites.
    • Current registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) in Alberta.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.
    • Proficiency in GeoScout or Accumap.
    • Experience in hydrology and hydraulic design and engineering.
    • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
    • Quick learner, ability to manage change and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Strong, demonstrated interest and commitment to sustainability issues.
    • Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports.
    • Proven leadership, business development and client communication skills.
    • Familiarity with hydrogeological technical software programs that may include AQTESOLVE, MODFLOW, EQuIS, PHREEQC, GoldSim and/or AquaChem.
    • A background knowledge in geochemistry, water treatment, and/or groundwater flow modelling is considered an asset.
    • Infrastructure assessment and planning skills including strategic business impact, risk and socio-economic impact considerations an asset.
