    Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent

    Hours of Work: 44 hours/week

    Benefits: Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance with company policy.

    Salary: $100,000 CAD / year

    Duties:

    • Menu Planning & Culinary Creativity: Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities and consult with clients to develop daily and weekly bespoke menus aligned with preferences of principal, guests, and visitors, tailored to specific dietary needs (including allergies and health conditions), and seasonal availability
    • Ingredient Sourcing & Procurement: Conduct all grocery and specialty ingredient shopping, including visiting markets, butchers, fishmongers, and gourmet suppliers.
    • Meal Preparation: Prepare all meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, at a fine-dining standard, with a specialized focus on authentic Italian and French cuisine
    • Meal Service: Presenting food to guests, including a description of the ingredients, often including follow up questions about preparation style or creative decisions
    • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean work environment and all culinary equipment, arranging repairs as needed and reporting maintenance issues to house management.
    • Inventory Management: Manage all kitchen-related inventories including dry goods, fridge/freezer items, beverages (including cellar management), cleaning supplies, and household consumables.
    • Budgeting & Accounts: Estimate food requirements and costs, and track spending on food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.

    Requirements:

    • Completion of secondary school is required
    • Cook's trade certification or equivalent credentials, training and experience are required
    • 3+ years of experience as a full-time private chef is required
    • Experience operating in formal or high-net-worth household environments with polished presentation, clear communication, and adherence to formal service and etiquette standards.
    • Completion of SafeCheck Advanced Safety Certification is required
    • Proven ability to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations in a luxury or fine-dining setting
    • In depth knowledge of Italian regional cuisines, including differences in cooking styles, ingredient choices, and presentation
    • Must have a driver's license
