Position Summary

Education and Experience

  • Two year Community College diploma in Office Administration (medical preferred) or equivalent combination of education may be considered
  • Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course, or demonstrated relevant, recent experience
  • Participates in ongoing upgrading of computer skills
  • Minimum two years office administration experience (healthcare), preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in hospital computer software, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Accurate keyboarding and dictatyping skills at a minimum of 50 words per minimum
  • Demonstrated ability in prioritizing tasks, problemsolving, attending to detail, selforganizing and organizing others, selfmotivating and adapting in relation to a variety of activities
  • Demonstrated aptitude in gathering and interpreting information by telephone.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and tact in dealing with patients and customers in a variety of sensitive and confidential situations
  • Ability to work in a busy office environment with many interruptions and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Good attendance and availability required
