Business Development Manager (BDM)

Direct Report - You will report to your regional head or to the sales department VP.


Workplace - You will be expected to work from i3 international's office at Unit Birchmount Road, Scarborough Ontario. Travel will be required and attendance at trade shows in the U.S and Canada. You will be expected to maintain client relationships from the office and by taking time to travel to meet face to face.


Who you are- you are a creative person with the ability to communicate clearly, expressing yourself easily. Able to verbalize detailed ideas and concepts. You build relationships quickly, not afraid to be the initiator of discussions or the one to approach and talk to a stranger in a social setting. Your listening skills are above average, and you consider your ability to listen a much stronger attribute than your speaking skills. You have experience in the field of sales but are willing to learn improved process and proper sales acumen.


Job Roles and Responsibilities
As a Business Development Representative, you will be the frontline of i3 International brand and business development - specifically dedicated to the vertical you are assigned to

Following guidance from leadership you will build and define a strategy that bests suits your ability to capture opportunities and then develop those opportunities to sales

You will use the necessary tools required by the role, Salesforce, Excel and the Phone/SMS/Video System, ensuring that you follow the required procedures and input the needed data to keep organized and to provide concise reports

You will be reviewed not only on your job performance but the quality of your data, therefore Salesforce housekeeping will be adhered to at the highest level

You will be required to know or learn your customer's profile depending on the vertical you are assigned to. This may require additional self-learning or previous work experience

You will be asked to attend trade shows and events where you will take your sales acumen and entertain and engage with prospect business owners and organizations

You will have the very latest collateral and information in video, infographic and document form that you will utilize to send to potential clients - this information will highlight i3 International's programs, technology and services

You will adhere to a daily, weekly and monthly reporting schedule, ensuring you provide clear and concise information following the required format

You will be set targets, it will be a job requirement that you meet these targets and are consistently hitting the needs of the business and expectations

You will always conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner, showing the highest regard for the person or organization you are calling's time and effort

As a Business Development Manager, you will always communicate in professional terms - learning the needed parlance to communicate properly with potential clients and organizations in your vertical

You will attend training or be assigned time during the working week to self-study. There will be interactive training sessions and business development seminar that you will need to attend and are a part of your function

After the probationary period, it will be your responsibility to be up to date with advances that i3 has made with its technology or with the business and potential new channels to sell through

You will be involved in marketing initiatives and promotions that generate opportunities - you will be expected to give feedback and report outcome as a result of marketing initiatives and campaigns

You will strive to achieve the next step in your career path being that of Business Development, this means being responsible for your work, being creative with your strategy and going above and beyond to achieve your targets

You will be provided with opportunities but that does not mean you will not do your own research using the various social media channels, industry publications, association web pages, as just some examples

Your performance will be reviewed monthly, opportunities to improve may require retraining or additional mentoring on areas of difficulty or that are challenging

You will be expected to provide an industry summary on findings and observation, once a quarter, this report will be generated from the conversations you have with prospects, which will require a high degree of listening ability and organized note taking

You will be expected to work within a team, eventually you may find yourself leading external and internal resources, you will always show empathy, demonstrate professionalism and communicate politely

You will face challenges and experience failure; you will be expected to turn these situations into a learning opportunity, always reviewing what happened to be better the next time you encounter similar situations - Champions keep trying until they get it right
