    We are currently seeking a Water Process Engineer to join our team. You will hold a full-time and permanent position and will work in one of H2O Innovation's offices (Quebec, QC, Oakville, ON, Calgary, AB or Champlin, MN locations). Our next colleague will primarily be responsible for providing technical support to sales, developing preliminary process treatment designs, standard UF/RO package development, and overall technical and commercial proposal development related to the company's treatment systems sales process.

    The day-to-day

  • Conducting preliminary design of water treatment plants based on membrane projections and other accepted calculations in accordance with established criteria;
  • Collaborating closely with sales directors and engineering teams;
  • Preparing budgets, preliminary and final (bid) cost estimates including material lists, equipment, and orders;
  • Preparing formal proposals for submission to potential clients;
  • Developing equipment and plant layout drawings as requested and supervising designers;
  • Creating process drawings such as P&ID and PFD;
  • Selecting equipment (pumps, valves, membranes, etc.);
  • Developing and delivering technical presentations/communications on internal projects to promote the Company and water technologies at conferences and client meetings;
  • Conducting ongoing research to enhance current equipment and treatment processes design and develop or acquire new equipment or processes to complement the existing portfolio;
  • Preparing engineering documents such as functional descriptions, process control narratives, etc.;
  • Maintaining excellent working knowledge of state, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as current design processes;
  • Maintaining contact with current facilities to obtain performance, operational, and maintenance data and provide operational assistance upon request;
  • Maintaining records of actual costs and providing a comparison and analysis of variances between estimated and actual costs;
  • Advancing the development of standard treatment packages for UF and NF/RO systems;
  • Traveling to project sites and conducting process treatment audits;
  • Other duties as required.
  • The skills we are looking for

  • A degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Related professional experience: membrane treatment experience required;
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
  • French communication ability is an asset;
  • Knowledge of potable and wastewater is an asset.
