Job summary

Answers the phone in a timely(polite and professional manner preferably in three rings or less Responds to telephone inquiries for information or appointments and takes necessary messages Receives telephone and in-person referrals for therapy services records necessary demographic information Greets and promptly acknowledges patients presence in the waiting room Checks new patients giving them appropriate paperwork to complete photocopies patient insurance cards ensures physician order and insurance authorization is present valid Explains financial responsibility has patient sign liability waiver if not confirmed Obtains approvals pre-certifications from third party payors documents approval numbers medical record Schedules initial appointment ongoing series treatment appointments pre-registers inputs data into database Prints forms labels assembles chart places on each page Sorts opens mail distributes accordingly Copies processes all requests from attorney offices Collects co-payments prepares deposit courier picks up Maintains files medical records reports proper format makes available patient records materials treatment audit study billing Procedures Regularly updates knowledge third party regulations Works edits ensure accounts are complete billing Processes cancellations no show appointments notifies clinician change schedule Re-schedules extends schedules as needed Confirms Out Area Provider name address phone fax NPI number enters database registers Files medical record Discharges patients upon completion services according department policies procedures Edits clinicians schedules include time off sick vacation meeting time Calls reschedule when clinician out Makes edits computerized schedule Maintains efficient flow daily schedule front office operations Maintains adequate levels office break room supply materials Assists processing purchase orders Communicates clearly tactfully with patients families maintains confidentiality Attends meetings Performs other related duties assigned requested Consistently provides service excellence all patients family members visitors volunteers coworkers reflecting Cape Cod Hospitals commitment CARES compassion accountability respect excellence service Ability read write communicate English High school graduate GED Two years recent experience within past three years medical rehab office clinic comparable hospital One year recent experience working with third party payors including referrals Successful passage basic medical terminology course CCH Medical Terminology exam Demonstrated computer keyboarding skills>
