Description

Josef Gas is looking for a Logistics Health and Safety Co Ordinator for its driver team.

This position coordinates the needs and efforts of the drivers to ensure customer satisfaction is met with an emphasis on a safe delivery that follows all company procedures and requirements.

Constant monitoring, training, motivation and communication with the Drivers is required.

This is done through team meetings, training sessions, ride-alongs, and auditing driver certifications and licenses to make sure they are qualified and competent to perform the work that is expected of them.

Responsibilities:

Greets drivers daily and is in constant communication throughout the day.

Ensures all driver training is compliant with Government regulations and Company Standards.

Maintain high compliance to dispatch standards and operating procedures.

Liase with other Departments to resolve driver concerns.

File, track and maintain Driver training and certifications.

Schedule Drivers for required training programs and research beneficial training programs

Understand, train and enforce the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

Understand Government laws and regulations pertaining to this industry.

Complete accident investigation, worker injury reports, hazard reports or near misses should one occur.

Assist other departments completing safety paperwork and training.

Conduct Driver orientation.

Work with Fleet Coordinator to conduct periodic truck inspections and safety audits.

Attend any safety meeting including Joint Health and Safety Meetings.

Ensure first aid kits and fire extinguishers have the required equipment and are inspected.

Maintain and improve Health and Safety Program requirements.

Assist employees with any questions or concerns they may have regarding Health and Safety.

Schedule external safety inspections.

Monitor active WSIB cases and provide proper documentation when required.

Qualifications:

Degree or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in similar role.

1+ yrs of trucking industry and/or dispatch experience is an asset

Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in the Transportation of Hazardous materials industry.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and be open to training on new Programs.

Exceptional oral, written and interactive communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively.

Demonstrated ability to actively manage multiple, concurrent projects.

Strong problem solving skills.

Strong emergency response skills.

Positive attitude with good social skills.

$70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
