- First principles, systems led, development of the hybrid electrical powertrain
- Promote the implementation of Systems Engineering across the Engineering teams
- Be an integral part of the team, projecting positive behaviours and influence onto the team
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of the standards and specifications appropriate to the discipline of Systems Engineering (i.e. INCOSE knowledge, ARP4754A experience, etc)
- Apply a pragmatic and best practice Systems Engineering techniques to support our projects and business development activities

- Enforce standards, ensure rigor, resilience and continuous improvement in design solutions, meeting all regulatory requirements, conforming to specifications, quality and requirements within schedule and budget

What we need you to bring.
Horizon is seeking an open, enthusiastic, experienced Senior Systems Engineer. Your role involves aircraft and system level systems engineering activities You will cultivate in-house expertise and foster an environment with a deep knowledge of systems engineering practices / culture. Working within a complex stakeholder landscape and often with immature, developing and changing requirements, you will be expected to assist and guide our internal departments to scope, develop and deliver solutions. This is a prominent position within our organisation, which puts people at the heart of its success, with great follow-on prospects.
Systems Engineers are internationally recognised as the innovators and architects of complex products and solutions. This role gives the successful applicant the opportunity to become a significant part of our Systems Engineering team on our leading project, and to shape our systems engineering toolset, methods & culture.
Your Day-to-Day:
We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences: Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in a systems engineering role from aerospace or automotive, having worked across all phases of the lifecycle. Ideally you would have hands on experience with systems development or test, and you will have familiarity with EVTOL Certification regulations from the TCCA, FAA, and EASA. You must have experience working within ARP4754, ARP4761 and other relevant standards.

As part of the team, you will tackle challenges and deliver something that has never been done before. The team is currently full of multi-skilled individuals who are some of the first Engineers to have joined Horizon. You will be one of the first Systems Engineering generalists to join us, which provides significant latitude in developing our working methods alongside needs of developing the platform.

Location.
We are located just outside of Lindsay, in the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario, Canada. Our team is onsite at our facility, as a group, a minimum of two days per week. We expect the same from you, and we are mindful of what a realistic commute would be to keep you safe and at your best. We offer relocation allowances in appropriate cases.
We have a growing team in the Ottawa area, who are onsite in Lindsay less often. If you are in the region, please do apply and we can discuss options with you.
