- 10+ years of experience working in acoustics and/or vibration control
- Direct experience in building acoustics and project management is mandatory
- Structural vibration design experience is an asset
- Demonstrated current environmental acoustics, noise, and vibration skill set, including understanding the fundamentals and approaches used to measure, predict, and evaluate building acoustics, noise, and vibration
- Experience using any of CadnaA, CATT, Odeon or EASE, SAP 2OOO, Visual Basic, Strutt, or Matlab is an asset
- Established current working knowledge of provincial, local, and industry specific regulations and guidelines
- Professional status in Ontario (credentials in other provinces an asset)

As our new Principal Engineer – Architectural Acoustics & Vibration , you will take on responsibility for leading our terrific team of engineers and technicians in Ontario.
You will also be responsible for helping further develop our client base in this key growth area for SLR. You will also be undertaking technical work to support the wider business development activities.Imagine tackling intricate noise control challenges that impact millions. At SLR, our 150-strong Acoustics and Vibration team pushes the boundaries of technical excellence across the globe. Develop noise mitigation strategies for hospitals, design quieter aircraft, or improve sound quality in concert halls. Every project makes a tangible difference.
Success in this complex, multi-faceted role will depend on your demonstrated skills and depth of experience in staff leadership, business development, and client service, as well as your technical mastery of the field.
You'll work with a diverse array of private and public clients to design and develop building and architectural acoustic solutions and enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment, where yoursuccess will depend on your collaborative working style, your consultative approach to clients, and your superb technical skills.
Acoustics, and vibration assessments on challenging and stimulating projects encompassing:
o Building acoustics:
examples include institutional, health care, commercial, educational, and recreational facilities for architectural acoustics, building service noise control, environmental noise control, and vibration-sensitive applications.
o Building vibration:
examples include the design of floors for vibration from occupant activity (footfalls), vehicle-induced vibrations, building services, and design for sensitive medical and research equipment.
