The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) has been meeting the needs of Aboriginal people making a transition to the urban Vancouver community.

VAFCS is seeking a Housing Manager to plan and deliver affordable Indigenous housing and services across Metro Vancouver.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Develops collaborative relationships with local stakeholders and participate in relevant community and stakeholder meetings.
Develops and implements property management plan for each housing complex that incorporates the facility condition index, characteristics of the tenant population and required/available community support services.
Procures and manages the work of external service providers, directly or through Shelter Managers and/or Transition House Manager; determines terms of reference, negotiates, and monitors contractual agreements for specialized maintenance, grounds and renovation work, as required.
Manages the completion of site condition inspections when needed, in response to operational concerns and in preparation for lease renewal negotiations.
Ensures that facilities are maintained consistent with best practices regarding energy conservation, carbon footprint reduction, LEED certification and other relevant environmental standards.
Manages and coordinates the contract management and compliance program; this program will address mandatory compliance requirements in relations to legislation and accepted industry standards for the maintenance of building systems (mechanical, electrical, and other services)
Performs other responsibilities as required.
