Position Summary
As a

Payroll Manager you will lead the payroll team. This position will be responsible for managing the day to day activities in the organization's client facing payroll function and being a resource for our payroll specialists, associates and assistants.


Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager
" This position is responsible for processing payroll as needed, training new hires, assigning new clients, problem resolution, and department procedures.

" Prepare and lead meetings and trainings for our payroll team

" Conduct interviews, performance reviews and provide coaching where needed for the payroll staff.

" Function as a leader in all initiatives and mentors' team to ensure operational excellence.

" Train new employees and clients on payroll procedures, software, company practices, policies and procedures

" Develop best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes

" Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures

" Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately

" Prepare client and employee wage summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, retirement savings and benefits

" Work with Treasury and taxes to process current year and prior year reconciliation

" Address payroll related queries and requests

" Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions

" Follow and enforce federal, provincial and local laws

" Participate in hiring process, performance reviews, pay changes and progressive discipline

" Prepare and lead monthly staff meetings

" Create bank files for direct deposits


Additional Responsibilities as Client relations Specialist
***- Work with internal teams, client, and agent to achieve a high rate of client retention

  • User setup and training of our client facing webbased payroll and custom reporting software
  • Analyze data and review procedures and policies to determine answers to clients' questions
  • Escalate and resolve areas of concern, as raised by clients or internal departments
  • Interact with clients to gain knowledge of their business model and drivers, HR practices, goals, and objectives
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients. Gather and distribute voice of customer feedback to appropriate internal departments
  • Successfully manage client expectations in a fastpaced environment
  • Introduce and drive adoption of new products and services to client
  • Assist in announcing to clients, changes in compliance using various communication formats
  • Act as part of a team to continually develop and create improved processes and procedures

" Strong skills in MS Office, including Excel and Outlook


Qualifications
" High School Diploma or equivalent.

" CPP required for this position

" 3+ years of payroll experience

" 3+ years PEO, ASO payroll experience


Required Licenses And/Or Certifications
" Continuing Payroll Education Required
