The Commercial Services team oversees all aspects of generating non-aeronautical revenues (with exception of land development) for the Calgary International Airport.

The team consists of people from various industries bringing a diverse approach to problem solving and innovation while fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration.


Within the Commercial team the Parking and Ground Transportation (GT&P) team provides oversight, direction, and support in all aspects of parking, ground transportation, and curbside services.

The team works closely and collaboratively with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for growth and development of these critical business lines for the Calgary International Airport.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the General Manager, GT&P, the Business Development Manager for Ground Transportation & Parking oversees the management of all current revenue generating contracts, including setting up the agreements, client management, negotiating the contracts on behalf of the Calgary Airport Authority, and ensuring all renewals are completed on a timely basis based on renewal dates.

It is the responsibility of the Business Development Manager to investigate opportunities for new revenue generating services and involvement in the rate setting program for pricing associated with both Parking and Ground Transportation.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Lease Management
  • Ensure that all Ground Transportation desks are occupied with appropriate rental income coming in for these spaces
  • Investigate opportunities for new services
  • Work with the General Manager and Director on development of new revenue opportunities. Follow up on inquiries regarding organizations looking to service the Airport from a Parking or Ground Transportation standpoint
  • Negotiate new and renewal contracts for Ground Transportation and Parking based on agreed pricing strategies.
  • Work with Parking Sales to expand our corporate sales strategy driving new revenue opportunities from that sector
  • Project Management on initiatives meant to maximize revenue opportunities on Ground Transportation and Parking projects Including writing all revenue related RFP's and EOI's
  • Rental Car Allocation initiatives to ensure that we meet our contractual obligation, with the intent to ensure that we can maximize YYC airport revenue driven by rental companies
  • Analyze the service needs of our customers and develop and implement new services and solutions to address issues
  • Work in conjunction with YYC Marketing to support sales with appropriate sales materials and attendance at conferences and trade shows
  • Support the Parking and Ground Transportation Operations Manager and the Operations team as backup as required
  • Act as a key team member in the planning, development and implementation of new Ground Transportation and Parking initiatives
  • Initial point of contact for all GT and Parking contracts (except cleaning, and parking operations contracts) to resolve issues and enforce contracts
  • Event planning, coordination, and management (examples: CAGTA, Stampede events, partner Xmas events / gifts)

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Postsecondary education; preferably in business
  • 5 years in a business development role
  • A combination of education and business experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of airport operations, relative to parking and ground transportation
  • Ability to manage priorities, RFP's, projects, and contracts
  • A strong work ethic and effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated strong revenue and project management and problemsolving related skills
  • Creative and innovative techniques that support new business initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products i.e., Excel, Word, and accounting systems
  • Ability to work well in both a team and an individual environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC)
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work model with a combination of inoffice and remote work
