    Summary:

    We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and administering benefit programs. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management and accounting principles.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation
    • Utilize software systems, such as MS Office, QuickBooks, and HCSS, for payroll processing
    • Process employee T4s and ROEs
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
    • Conduct account reconciliations
    • Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy, including journal entries and general ledger accounting
    • Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes related to benefits administration
    • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations related to benefits and payroll practices
    • Collaborate with human resources and benefit representatives to address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits issues
    • Maintain organized documentation and filing
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in payroll management is essential
    • Proven experience in benefits administration is preferred
    • Self-motivated and able to work with little to no supervision
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Strong knowledge of payroll management practices, such as different provincial regulations and working on First Nations
    • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail are required
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
    • Strong customer service skills when dealing with employees and 3rd parties
